the artist

Michael Chaille is artisan, craftsman, and artist who resides north of San Francisco, CA. He received his degree in design from Berkeley, and has spent the last 30 years teaching and creating art in a variety of media--ceramics, textiles, wood, and metal.

The symbols and patterns in his jewelry are universal and timeless and once. Once the idea is formulated, he works intuitively until the piece is complete. With over 30 years of metalsmithing and teaching experience, Michaels work embodies a love for the medium of metal and all of its attendant possibilities.

"If my work could be defined as 'delicate', it is only for its small size. For I find this size to be the best way to fully express myself--using bold colors anodized on aluminum surfaces, rich textures and patterns on three dimensional shapes, along with small details for interest."
